Time and Again

A Bump in the Road

With apologies for posting so few entries recently, I have decided to take some time off and get my health back.  I have been sick off and on since Thanksgiving and have also developed painful arthritis in my knees which makes it difficult to walk.  I have felt like a real shut-in for a while now, missing out on most of my usual routine.  It is time to find a new doctor--never an easy prospect--and regain my health.  I miss my old life!  So please bear with me.  I will be back as soon as things have righted themselves.  See you soon!

Ring the bell
Set out cups and napkins for snack
Count the children in the morning
Share photos of her friends and family

VETERAN'S DAY 2007

I hope you will stop for a moment today and reflect upon the many lives that have been lost for this country--some even as I write, I fear.  I am a child of an Air Force officer who flew in World War II,  I was the wife of a Navy pilot during Viet Nam, and now I sit and realize that the youth of today will become the veterans of tomorrow. We owe all those who have fought a debt we can never repay.  Let us never forget.

I WON!!

A few weeks ago, a dear blog friend, Joanna of Moss Hill Studio, put out a call for Christmas ornaments to go on a tree for her niece, Lindsay, who is stationed in Iraq.  I sent in a couple and low and behold, my name was picked to receive this beautiful work by Joanna.  I have long admired her art and to know a piece of hers is coming my way, is overwhelming. Thank you so much, Joanna!

I know that you join me--whatever your feelings about the war--in wishing Lindsay a Merry Christmas and a safe journey home.  May it be soon!

Two Little Spooks!

Here are my granddaughters all ready to go trick or treating! Olivia, the older one, was a "goth fairy", and Sofie wanted to be--of all things--a unicorn! Her mom was able to pull it all together and off they went with their dad. Amy wasn't feeling well and went to bed early and I had an arthritis flare-up in my knees, so my son, Scott, came to the rescue and manned the door with charm and good will--I think he even enjoyed it!  Our thanks to him for stepping in--he saved the night!  (He also took some great photos.)
