This is my interpretation of the following poem by Hilda Conkling, age4:
The Key to My Mind
A little stone door to my mind
Opens and shuts with a musical sound.
There is a gold key
Locks the door.
The door is carved like lace
Spirits fly in and out
Messages
Of love and things I ought to know
Through the lacework of stone
Comes a sweet melody saying
Happiness... purity... strangeness
We were given a list of items to include: a key, a fish, a flower, a stone door, and a Paper Whimsy image of our choice along with one word from the poem. It was a fun and interesting challenge!
